  • Comment

Groundworks have started on this £7 million hi-tech business centre at Salford Quays by RTKL.The scheme neighbours the Lowry, by Michael Wilford and Partners, and the Daniel Libeskind-designed Imperial War Museum - North and is the latest piece in the regeneration of the Trafford site.

The 5,500m 2building will house office space and support facilities for emerging companies. High bandwidth connections giving speedy Internet access will feed into the building. This will allow demonstration facilities for cutting-edge Internet and digital technologies, said RTKL architect Ken Christian. The client is the Lowry Centre Development Company and the scheme will be completed by the end of 2001 if it passes through planning.
