[First look] S333 has won planning permission for five townhouses and two commercial buildings on the site of a former dairy in Bloomsbury, London
The 3,000m2 scheme aims for an ‘organic yet industrial feel’, and the triangular site is sandwiched between Regent Square’s terraces and St George’s Gardens.
The £10 million project replaces an old Express Dairy building with 1,810m² of residential and 1102m² of commercial space.
S333’s design ’ rethinks the form of the traditional London mews’ using the ‘pragmatic and opportunistic form’ of inner city industrial architecture – according to a statement by the architect.
The scheme for WX Investments and Urban Style Regeneration features brick latticework, large timber entrances and folded elements of burnished brass and copper.
