Royal Yacht Squadron

  • Comment

A new pavilion for the Royal Yacht Squadron, designed by London architect Thomas Croft, is due to be opened today during the Cowes week regatta. The Duke of Edinburgh has been lined up to open the 400m 2building, which uses a steel frame structure and a curved copper roof which aims to echo the shape of the canvas marquees which preceded it on the sea-side site. The pavilion will be used for entertaining during regattas throughout the summer and can accommodate 200 people for drinks.
