Roof stands up to Scottish winds

  • Comment

At its spectacular location, 1,100m up at Ptarmigan on the Cairngorm plateau, the upper station of the Cairngorm funicular railway is roofed with 1,200m 2of Kalzip aluminium standing seam. Capable of withstanding extreme conditions, including winds of 200km/h, the system also needed to be as maintenance free as possible, bearing in mind the remote location.

A stucco-embossed finish satisfied planning issues about visual impact.
