RIBA awards staff, having got rid of their hangovers, are actively looking for venues for next year's Stirling Prize party.
Trouble is, there aren't many places which hold well in excess of 600 people, ideally in one space (all the better for atmosphere and for Channel 4 if it opts to get involved again). The institute is thinking of moving away from the capital (good PR) as it did in 1999 when Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum was the excellent choice. Astragal's tip?
Nick Grimshaw's Space Science Centre in Leicester, set for completion next spring. Perfect for a Spatial Odyssey.
