Ryder Architecture Design and Management has won planning approval for a £1.9 million retail development in Newcastle's Kingston Park. The 3,000m2 project has been commissioned to revitalize an existing shopping centre. Building work is due to commence this month, and demolition has already begun.

Completion is due this November.

Boots has already agreed to take one third of the space, although tenants for the remaining area (which is likely to be split into two units) have yet to be found. The development will also include improved transport facilities and the existing bus terminus is to be redesigned. Car parking space will also be reconfigured.
