The use of external perforated aluminium louvres answered that brief for high-quality office space while also allowing the building to be more environmentally responsible than a conventional office building.

When positioned at 45degrees, the louvres reduce the solar gain into the office area by 90 per cent and therefore allow the use of chilled beams rather than conventional air conditioning, which in turn make the building 40 per cent more energy efficient than it would otherwise be.

In addition, the use of adjustable louvres and perforations maximises views out as well as daylight ingress.
