The Chartres redevelopment authority is seeking urban design, superstructures and infrastructure for the redevelopment of the railway-station area following a definition study by atelier Garcia-Diaz.
This will include a new roadway, a programme of mixed housing and services, a new intermodal platform for pedestrians, cycle, car, train, bus and taxi and with underground and surface parking, and the landscape improvement of the link between the station and the town-centre.

From October the Utah Beach Museum at Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, which commemorates the Allied Normandy invasion of 1944, will be closed for works.
Nicolas Kelemen Architecture are undertaking the complete renovation of the museum with a new wing and reorganisation of the displays to increase space from 900m² to 2,100m², with exterior redevelopment of access and parking.
30 per cent of the 3.9 million Euros project is being financed by the American David Dewhurst Foundation. Two years ago Texas Lieutenant-Governor David Dewhurst and his brother Gene discovered that their father had piloted a B26 over the Madeleine Beach on 6 June 1944 and so decided to contribute to the project’s funding.
