Builders have moved in at the RIBA headquarters to remove asbestos from the ceilings above the Florence Hall and council chamber.

The safety work is in preparation for an overhaul of the institute's main public spaces by house architect Allies and Morrison.

Conran & Partners is redesigning the cafe area. Work will be completed this autumn, part of a raft of 42 different alteration projects.
