NATIONALSPORTS INSTITUTE AT BATH UNIVERSITY. Applications are invited for a National Network Centre for Sport at Bath University. Financial support is planned subject to an application for funds from Sport England through the Lottery Fund to the value of £15-20 million. Deadline for application 21 March 2000.

ROADBRIDGE IN SUDBURY, SUFFOLK.

Competition for the design of a new roadbridge in Sudbury, Suffolk. Six to be invited following open application. Deadline for application 21 March 2000.

ANGLIA POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY. New competition to select an architect-led design team for a new centre for business, management and postgraduate studies for Anglia Polytechnic University in Chelmsford. The university wishes to invite six design teams with the necessary design excellence, experience and capability to achieve a quality, sustainable, environmentally friendly building.

AKZO NOBEL WOODCARE STUDENT COMPETITION (AJ 28.10.99). The second Akzo Nobel competition asks for designs for a Museum of the Weather. Students may choose from one of three sites in the United Kingdom, Stirling, Cardiff and Cambridge. The jury panel will include Niall McLaughlin as RIBA adviser.

Submission deadline 13 July 2000. Registration - £7.50 (inc VAT).

BRITISH STEEL STUDENT COMPETITION 2000. By taking part in this competition, you will have a chance to explore design issues in relation to railway architecture and learn about how to materialise them using steel. The senior assessor for this competition is Will Alsop of Alsop & Stormer. Registration deadline Friday 14 April 2000. Submission deadline Wednesday 28 June 2000.
