The riai has launched two competitions, the first of which is for 100 homes for one of Europe's largest regeneration projects, Dublin's £260 million Ballymun scheme. Entrants for the mixed-use scheme will provide community facilities and offices as well as flats and houses. The winner, to be announced on 30 July, will receive £5000. Submissions should be made by 12 April.
Navan urban district council teamed up with the riai for the second competition, a £600,000 civic space to mark the Millennium. A £10,000 prize may be awarded. Submissions are due by 22 March, and winners announced on 28 April.

A 30,000m2 mixed-use scheme fronting London's Brompton Road has won planning permission. smc Zeidler Roberts worked with Richard Horden on the Knightsbridge Green design. They have created 50 flats and penthouses, shops, a health club and 6000m2 of offices. Building on the 0.4ha site is due to start next year for a 2002 completion.
