Zaha Hadid Architects has released images of its €29.5 million Expo centre on the outskirts of Chartres, France
The scheme is part of the larger ‘plateau du Nord-Est’ masterplan and features 12,500m2 of internal display areas and 4,700m2 of external exhibition space.
According to the practice, the building’s design ‘is a compact and functional solution within a strong and clear overall composition’.
The centre can house up to three separate events at the same time and features a roof-top cafeteria with views across to the cathedral.
Construction is due to start in 2013.
