The first McDonald's drive-thru restaurant to be completed in 24 hours has been constructed in Runcorn, Cheshire, setting a world record. This project epitomises the benefits that are achievable using a modular approach to design. The installation of the light steel prefabricated modules, provided by Britspace, took just two hours. Most of the fitting-out work was done in Britspace's factory. A key factor in achieving this remarkable feat was Bullivant's steel piling system, which eliminated the need to dig holes, pour concrete or remove foundation waste off site.
