Designed by Glenn Howells Architects, Manchester's Timber Wharf incorporates £1.5 million worth of bespoke fenestration by engineers MagHansen. Floor-to-floor glazing was used to bring maximum light to the interiors of the 200 apartments.
MagHansen's specially-developed aluminium 6,000 x 3,000mm sliding screens were used for the external facade of each of the balconied apartments, and are being craned into place as each shell is completed.
MagHansen is also responsible for the seven-storey structural-glass atrium and faceted rooflight. Due for completion next spring, it is the third of three projects within Britannia Basin by developer Urban Splash.
