I am unhappy at the translation of my views in the presidents' halfterm report on Marco Goldschmied (AJ 31.8.00). While realising that journalism is selective, and space is tight, the piece attributed to me in no way reflected my mainly complimentary remarks; used the few aspects in which I expressed disappointment; and gave a score, which I had withdrawn, in writing.
A RIBA president's job is a difficult one - as is that of an immediate past president! Marco has the support of policy management board and council, and the RIBA is on the crux of important changes.
