Presidential thoughts

Question: who will succeed David Rock as RIBA president for the Millennium, taking over in summer 1999? A long time away, but the process of election will begin soon, with Council's nominee to be decided in July. Claire Frankl may stand again, believe institute observers, as might dark horse Colin James. Given the range of new talents brought in to sit on Council by Rocco, the field is wider than usual; one name springs prominently to mind, however: Terry Farrell. Although not thought of as an Establishment figure, Terry has been president of the Urban Design Group, an English Heritage Commissioner, and is a CBE.
