Preparation pays for curtain-wall progress

  • Comment

Doors and windows from Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems have been used in a new generalteaching complex at Barnstable College in Devon to ensure that the project ran to budget and schedule.

The main area of concern was above the automatic entrance doors, where the curtain wall met the eaves. Windows were constructed in Comar 51t, doubleglazed, and fitted with locking handles, trickle vents and restrictors.

Special attention was given to purpose-made sills to accommodate the brickwork. Doors were Comar 7, with three portholes.
