Prefab panels - we were using them 10 years ago

We were interested to see the article on insulated prefabricated panels being introduced from the US (AJ 9.11.00).

We designed a doctor's surgery in Kensington, almost 10 years ago (pictured above), which - with an elegant steel frame designed by Neil Thomas of Atelier One - was not only completed prefabricated and built over two weekends but had floors, walls and roof prefabricated in virtually uncut 8 x 4m marine ply-bonded panels with internal insulation, all pre-impregnated with SP Systems two-part resin and finished with an ultra-violet-resistant, two-part SP System varnish, with the joints sealed with clear silicone.

The system was quick and efficient and, as you can see, produced quite a stylish building relatively cheaply.
