Prefab in practice

  • Comment

Calford Seaden Partnership has won planning permission for a 270m2 prefabricated wood building to promote best practices in housing production. The Amphion Centre will be based at University of Greenwich's Dartford campus and building will take just one month.

Gordon Murray + Alan Dunlop Architects is building this 104-bedroom hotel in Glasgow's Bath Street conservation area, for completion next March. The scheme has a cantilevered roof in stainless steel to enable it to be visible from most of the main city centre thoroughfares. Its full-height glazed facade is angled at each floor to cut down solar gain and maximise privacy. The project is for Irish developer Spanli on behalf of Bewley's Hotels.
