Precast panels in a different mould

  • Comment

Concrete admixtures from Sika are behind a switch by Trent Concrete to the use of self-placing early-strength concrete in production of its custommade architectural cladding. With the exception of three-dimensional casts, the Nottingham-based company expects the new system soon to account for up to 50 per cent of its panel operations. The mix design is based on Sika ViscoCrete Premier, which allows large water reduction for the same workability, and, together with Sika ViscoCrete Stabiliser, provides the high strength required for the faster turnaround of moulds, increased frost and water resistance and high workability and durability.
