Practices sought for £35m Manchester court complex

  • Comment

The RIBA's competitions office is managing the selection process for a new court complex in Manchester - estimated to be worth up to £35 million.

An advert has been placed in OJEC, on behalf of the Lord Chancellor's department and the Court Service. The institute is looking for multidisciplinary design teams to work with a developer appointed by the service.

A selection of applicants will be interviewed, with a view to drawing up a shortlist of practices which will be asked to draw up design proposals, for which fees will be paid. Practices have until 29 August to express an interest in the project.

The Court Service wants a cost-effective and 'high-quality flexible space'. Further details are available from the RIBA, tel 0113 234 1335.
