Studio E Architects has been picked to promote British architecture to Poland in a British Council 'creative industries trade mission'. As part of a Warsaw exhibition of the best of British design, the practice's director Cezary Bedarnski will be showcasing the Solar Office in Sunderland which won Studio E the European Solar Prize 1999. Bedarnski has recently completed a similar mission to Japan with Eric Parry Associates.

Essex Goodman & Suggitt has been awarded planning permission for this new bar and restaurant (above) at Baron House in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The £700,000 building has an aluminium aerofoil roof and a hardwood timber frame and is part of the Grainger Town urban regeneration scheme in the city. The client is property investment company, Waterbridge Group.
