Malcolm Fraser Architects is this week toasting its success in the Edinburgh Architectural Association's annual awards for 1999. The practice beat 26 other entries to win best building in the east coast area of Scotland for its Scottish Poetry Library, Edinburgh. It pipped Page & Park's entry, Colinton Parish Church, Edinburgh, which won a high commendation. Former winners include Benson & Forsyth's Museum of Scotland in 1998 and the Edinburgh International Conference Centre by Terry Farrell & Partners in 1995. This year Benson & Forsyth was again rewarded for the Museum of Scotland with a special award, the centenary medal.
