Bar Rouge, Brindley Place
This 'crafted' jewel (part of Brindley Place) relied on careful attention to the detail as everything can be seen. The glass and steel are in the same plane; the roof, wall and structural organisation allowed the use of a single size of member throughout. To avoid the 'snaking'of the butterfly roof edge resulting from variable deflections, the edge cantilever span is made constant by the introduction of a leaning arch above each wing plane.
