Using Planar point-fixed glazing systems with double or triple glazing is shown to provide marked acoustic improvement over more conventional frames. And improvements in acoustic attenuation grows with the number of panes, thanks to the damping produced by the bridging elements, says Pilkington. Insulation is particularly effective at the lower end of the spectrum, which includes transport noise.
