Residents of west London may have received some enigmatic telephone calls recently, probably little more than muttered apologies in a Polish accent. The caller was none other than Cezary Bednarski, one of the more flamboyant characters on the architectural scene. In the process of setting up an office for his practice, he was keen to have a memorable phone number. So he rang a number of possibilities until he hit on one that was a dead line. Then it was simply a case of badgering - sorry, persuading - BT to allocate the number to him. Anybody who wants to check out that caller may like to ring 020 8962 8962.
