A £66 million PFI scheme for Manchester's Wythenshawe Hospital, designed by WS Atkins, has been completed. It includes a 319-bed acute unit, 77-bed mental health space, intensive care facilities and mother and baby units.The hospital is due to open in September.

The first patients are now being treated at the £103 million PFI Wishaw General Hospital in Lanarkshire, designed by Percy Thomas Partnership.
