Bath-based Brian Bishop Architects has changed its name to bba Architects following the retirement last year of Brian Bishop.

Teesside-based dewjoc Partnership has appointed two new associates, Steven Halsall and Peter Swift, in its Newcastle office established earlier this year, bringing its total staff number there to 10.

Property and construction consultancy Dearle & Henderson has bought chartered architect Conoley & Webb, bringing its total design staff to 44. Conoley & Webb has considerable expertise in religious-building design, complementing the cost-consultancy skills of the former Wilson Colbeck, acquired in 1995. John Webb, formerly principal of Conoley & Webb, has become a director of Dearle & Henderson Design.

Christopher Pye has been promoted to become the sixth partner of Nightingale Associates, and the third partner in the London office. Brendan Sheehy and Neil Murphy have been promoted to associates in the London office
