Two members of the team that worked on the British Airways Terminal at Manchester Airport have left Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners to set up a new practice. Peter Roope and Rom Schmidt, senior partners of Rickmansworth-based Nicholson Partnership, have merged with retail-design strategist Colin Golding and Brighton-based Golding Design Associates to form Nicholson::gda, based in Rickmansworth. The new practice plans to expand its offices in Holland and Spain.

Peter Nicklin has joined Hulme Upright, a practice of architects and town planners, as a graduate building surveyor, based in the Stoke-on- Trent office.

Symbion International Architects & Interior Designers, which has offices in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, has formed an association with Cons-Com Botswana. Jagdish Rai joins Ada Torello Viera as director of Cons-Com.
