Paul Archer, founder of Tonkin architects, has set up a new company called pad, which is based at 18 South Villas, London NW1 9BS, tel 020 7692 7266, fax 020 7692 7265. Archer was shortlisted for Young Architect of the Year earlier this year.

Eva Jiricna Architects has moved to 3rd Floor, 38 Warren Street, London W1P 5PD, tel 020 7554 2400, fax 020 7388 8022.

Hastings-based practice, Adams Johns Kennard, has gained recognition as Investors in People (IIP). Only 23 architects in the whole of the uk have been recognised as IIP.

Nightingale Associates has created six new associate positions. Bruce Fairbairn, David Rowley, Gary Toon, Alistair Cory, Charlie Sweeny and Rowland Phillips will assume their individual responsibilities in January 2000.

Following the retirement of Roger Pratt, Wilkinson Pratt Partnership has re-structured with Alan Wilkinson as sole principal. Kevin Harrison and William Haward have become associates of the practice.

FaulknerBrowns has promoted the following people to project directors: Tania Love, Mark Titherington, Steve McIntyre and Andrew Groundsell. They were not promoted to directors, as was stated last week.

Tilney Simmons & Partners has accepted an offer from White Young Green for the entire share capital and equity holding of the Tilney Simmons Group, which includes Tilney Simmons Ltd and Tilney Simmons International.

Dunia Kerridge has joined arch-itectural ironmongers Scott Beavan as a director.
