Tony Mobbs has been appointed managing director designate by Bradford- based Robinson Architects, part of the Robinson Design Group.

Construction law firm Fishburn Boxer is to merge with large commercial practice Morgan Cole on 1 June. Fishburn Boxer will continue to operate as before, but under the name Fishburn Morgan Cole.

Multi-disciplinary engineering firm White Young Green has bought Belfast- based Philip Downie and Associates, a practice of mechanical, electrical and environmental consulting engineers. Philip Downie has become an operations director at White Young Green, and his colleagues Colin Kirkpatrick, Alan Emerson and Gary Sims, respectively mechanical, electrical and environmental engineers, have joined the new firm as associate directors.

Les Gerrelli has joined E C Harris as PFI director of its new PFI/PPP business unit. A structural engineer, he was previously director of building at Kvaerner Technology.

Alan Wakeford has joined BRE as director of a new business venture called BRE Communications.
