Penoyre & Prasad wins cautious CABE blessing

  • Comment

Penoyre & Prasad Architects' proposal to transform a brownfield corner of Gravesham into a mix of flats and town houses has won cautious approval from CABE.

The 3ha site will provide space for 149 homes.

But plans to convert a 16-storey tower into flats have caused concern at CABE, which fears the structure is being under-utilised. 'There should be some thought about giving the top of the tower over to a more public use, ' said the CABE report.

CABE has also given its blessing to a mixed-use development near Bristol's St Mary Le Port church, designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley, Lifschutz Davidson and 20/20.
