Developer Grosvenor/Henderson is working with Cesar Pelli and Associates to design, with BDP, a large chunk of its £700 million mixed-use scheme in Liverpool near the city's waterfront and city centre. The company and the architects held a workshop with CABE, English Heritage and the local council, where they also talked to Raphael Vinoly and Terry Farrell & Partners about designing a hotel, a residential structure and a leisure building. The BDP masterplan for the 17ha Paradise Street Development area is in for planning permission and involves other architects, including Page and Park, Brock Carmichael, Howarth Tompkins and Dixon Jones. Grosvenor retail project director Rodney Holmes said he hopes to be on site in 2003.
