Pawson Williams lands part in £4.5m children's theatre

The Unicorn Theatre for Children has chosen Pawson Williams Architects to design a new £4.5 million auditorium on Tooley Street, London.

The practice beat Penoyre and Prasad, Edward Cullinan Architects, Hawkins\Brown, Richard Murphy Architects and Panter Hudspith in the competitive interview process. The building will be partly be located in a listed fire station and will be financed with a combination of Lottery money and private fundraising.

Eighty-five architects entered the competition. Judges included Foster and Partners partner Ken Shuttleworth and competition manager Richard Coleman.
