Pascall + Watson after RMJM for £200k unpaid fees

  • Comment

Pascall + Watson has been forced to take legal steps to recover around £200,000 in unpaid fees from RMJM

The AJ understand the aviation specialists has not been paid a penny for its work with the troubled AJ100 giant on the huge Domodedovo airport project in Moscow (AJ 31.10.11).

Engineers Ramboll, which also collaborated with lead architect RMJM on the £262 million job, is also believed to be owed outstanding monies.

Pascall + Watson’s managing director Phil Holden said: ‘It is disappointing to have fees withheld from fellow architects when they present themselves as a chartered practice.

‘We have delivered all that was asked of us in a professional manner and quite rightly expect to be paid.’

RMJM announced it was taking on staff after landing the contract to design ‘segment 3’ of the United Terminal at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow back in November.

A spokesman for the company, which is due to meet with Pascall + Watson later this month, claimed: ‘With regard [to] Ramboll and Pascall + Watson, we have a mutually agreed way forward.’

Ramboll was unavailable for comment.

Earlier this month, former YRM/RMJM director James Thomas – who joined YRM to oversee the £10 billion Sizewell C nuclear power station project – left the company for Zaha Hadid Architects.

Energy giant EDF, which is hunting for a design team to take the scheme forward, has allegedly drawn up a longlist of eight firms for the project.
