This team approach has been critical to the overall success of the project, and one of the client's three main requirements of the design and cost consultants and subcontractors. Lend Lease's corporate philosophy has been likened to the Latham Report written by St Luke! It combines a commitment to enterprise, innovation and a learning culture; an endeavour to ensure everything is fit for purpose; and a dedication to success and results.
The series of meetings and visits were part of its progressive 'culture of consultation' introduced for this, its first major UK project. For Hoogovens, such an approach is second nature, committed as it is to partnering agreements with its suppliers, lead contractors and the teamkaltrade mark network of subcontractors who install its roofing systems. Experience has demonstrated that successful results are achieved by this method, as well as contracts coming in on or under budget, and on or even ahead of schedule.
Having convinced Lend Lease, Benoy and Bovis of its technical capabilities, Hoogovens secured the contract for kal-zipregistered 400, 1mm gauge, supplied to site curved and tapered to the correct dimensions, and painted metallic silver (ral 9006 PVdF).
