An intriguing conference is planned for this autumn by the Mellon Centre in London. Organised by assistant director Steven Parissien, it covers the special relationship between British and American architecture since 1945. Among those slated to appear are the British exports Kenneth Frampton, Tony Vidler and (back again) Bob Maxwell, and a multiplicity of others with us connections: M J Long, Lionel March, Allen Cunningham, Adrian Gale, Norman Foster, Richard Rogers, etc. Others being asked include Bob Stern, Cesar Pelli, Michael Wilford, John Winter, Charles Jencks, Peter Cook, Ted Cullinan and Richard MacCormac; Zaha Hadid may speak about Alvin Boyarsky and Charles Jencks about the effect of us Post-Modernism. More details soon.
