The London practice’s Ore Valley adventure playground in Sussex has received planning permission and is now ready to go on site
The playground building will be located in the currently dilapidated coachworks in the south-western corner of the Ore Valley.
Heavily insulated timber rooms will be inserted in the refurbished shell, to house facilities, such as music and sensory rooms, a large kitchen, toilets, changing rooms and a staff room.
The playground will offer a variety of play opportunities including wild nature areas, water play, quiet areas, a fire pit, slides, zip line and places for digging and making dens.
The project is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, which awarded East Sussex County Council £2 million to spend on upgrading and creating playgrounds across East Sussex as part of the Play Pathfinder project.
