Hanson has successfully introduced a number of brick libraries to complement its northern- and southern-based brick showrooms. Usually in flagship heavy-traffic branches of merchants' premises, these dedicated shop-withinshop purpose-built units carry a wide selection of Hanson's products.
Set up initially to satisfy the increasing number of self-builders in the UK, the libraries have become popular with builders, developers and designers who prefer to experience the true tones, colours and textures of the real brick rather than select from brochures and computer screens.
The newest and largest site for a brick library is in the Vauxhall branch of Travis Perkins, near the BA London Eye.
This location is convenient for Londonbased architects to view probably the most comprehensive display of brick products in the capital, with more than 250 of the company's natural clay facings, special shapes and pavers on display. It will also be used for CPD training events. Staff at Travis Perkins have access to all Hanson Brick's central support and technical services.
