They certainly know how to throw a party in Leeds. Last year's launch for Ian Simpson's Lumiere skyscraper came with an assortment of fire-eaters, tuxedoed dwarves and Del Boy lookalikes. Stephen George's bash to celebrate moving into a new office in Park Place was no less spectacular. The Spacethemed shindig featured a jazz band dressed as aliens, a 1980s Space Invader arcade machine, an astronaut and hostesses clad in silver. One architect admitted it was a 'shameless ploy' to get people talking about the burgeoning practice. Mission accomplished.
