No excuses for unfunny and bad-taste cartoon

I write to protest strongly about the Miralles/Dewar 'look who's talking' cartoon (Astragal, AJ 8.11.01) Irrespective of what one's opinions may have been about their respective activities - these men were both much revered.

They both died recently in tragic circumstances. They both have close family and friends still living and mourning.

Donald Dewar, in particular, was a beacon of decency in the general morass into which our civilisation is declining. In humanitarian terms his untimely loss cannot be assuaged.

This cartoon is in appalling taste and lacks the excuse of being particularly funny. Therefore it is unacceptable in a quality construction industry journal. An apology is required.
