Design practice hp:icm has unveiled its scheme for the uk pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hanover which starts on 1 June. The pavilion will be flooded with 3000 litres of water in which four island exhibition areas will be floating, connected by bridges. Around 2.4 million visitors are expected to pass through the uk pavilion which has adopted the slogan 'diversity - it's in our nature'. The design was commissioned by the Foreign Office and is the second pavilion hp:icm has produced having worked on Expo 1998 in Lisbon.
