Formerly the exclusive province of fogeyish views about architecture, the Spectator has had a change of heart. Last week's issue included Alan Powers on the Bauhaus, Gavin Stamp on the joys of the London Eye (and its original engineer Jane Wernick), and most notably Sheridan Morley on the new Royal Court. Some are fed up with the cramped front-of-house conditions, but Morley has no doubts: the Haworth Tompkins design is 'the most intelligent, sensitive and triumphantly right rebuild I have come across anywhere in world theatre'. A snip at £25 million!
