A new terminal at New York's JFK International Airport has opened.

The £900 million, 150,000m 2Te rm i - nal 4 by SOM and Arup is one of the largest in North America and will serve more than 40 airlines. A 130m x 200m ticketing hall is surmounted by a double-vault roof supported by V-columns.

Gatwick Airport's south terminal has almost doubled in size after the completion of Geoffrey Reid Associates' extension to the international departures lounge.
