Construction minister Nick Raynsford is launching new building regulations that will require all new homes to be more accesible to disabled people. The rules come into force on 25 October and focus on level-entry thresholds, wider inside and outside doors, wc provision on the first floor as well as appropriate heights for sockets and switches.
