New cladding in poor state of health

  • Comment
News in brief

Stainless-steel cladding to the Isle of Wight's 1991 St Mary's Hospital may have to be replaced, in an £8.5 million contract, following reports of rust and leaking joints, despite its 60-year life expectancy. The hospital was designed by abk, which paid £2 million in out-of-court compensation in 1995. It did not admit liability.
