The 73ha Munich Exhibition Centre, built on the site of the former Riem Airport, has been transformed into an exhibition city. Great importance was placed on the quality of materials and construction, as the halls themselves are used as exhibits now that the centre hosts some of the world's largest building trade fairs The elegant, gently curving hall roofs are covered in 160,000m2 of kal-zipregistered standing-seam sheets, manufactured in a special width of 405.5mm with a height of 65mm and in lengths of up to 36m. The flexible material curves naturally to the 208m radius of the hall roofs.
