MORTICE LOCKS

Most specifiers are aware of Union's traditional strength in mortice locks, and it was on these products that the firm built its reputation. As in all its product groups, the company has a wide range of locks, suitable for both new-build and refurbishment projects, including the heavyduty 2D2 series, which has a 25-year guarantee.

'This product is for when a project requires performance that cannot be compromised at all, ' explains Dumsday. It is a cylinder-operated lock, ideal for using with the firm's top-of-therange keying system, Keso.

Just launched is the 2S2 series, suitable for more general commercial uses that have a European-style lock. The significant factor about this range is that the locks are easily handed, which makes life more simple for everyone throughout the supply chain.

Stockholders do not have to keep large numbers of both left- and right-handed locks, and both designers and contractors can make late changes without affecting the cost or timescale of the project.

The company also makes the Silver Series in a standard British case size, designed for use with a backplate rather than a separate escutcheon.
