Morrow + Lorraine wins planning for £8m Seifert overhaul

  • Comment

Emerging practice Morrow + Lorraine has won planning permission to overhaul and extend a Seifert Architects office block in the City of London

The £8million refurbishment scheme for the 1990 building at 108 Cannon Street includes a new double height-foyer and the addition of a rooftop extension.

A bronze statue designed by self-styled ‘People’s Artist of the USSR’, Zurab Tsereteli at the base of the existing building will not be retained as part of the 6,784m² project.

The scheme, which is practice’s largest project to date in the City, is backed by Beltane Asset Management and ties in with broader plans to revitalise Cannon Street and Transport for London’s proposed new entrance for Bank Station.

Construction work is expected to start in December 2014 and complete by the end of 2015.
