Milton Keynes prize

  • Comment

EDAW and Allies & Morrison have brushed off competition from practices including Richard Rogers Partnership and Terry Farrell and Partners to win a £250,000 masterplanning contract for central Milton Keynes.

The government's regeneration agency, English Partnerships, has picked the two practices to convert the city centre from a shopping destination into a 'focal point for the community'. EDAW's Andrew Jones said that this would involve 'looking at ways of increasing social activity and extending peoples' stay in the centre'. Work on the masterplan contract will begin next month and is expected to take about six months to complete.
